Reviews
What an amazing dining experience! In town from the suburbs of Chicago, and by far my best meal. Steaks were cooked to perfection and sides were delicious. Our server (who was also working the bar) was friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve been to multiple steak houses in Chicago and this steak was better than any I have had there. Thank you Butcher’s Tale for a lovely dining experience! (Pictured- ribeye, beef tenderloin, mash, mushrooms, chocolate cake)
They sell a gigantic bone-in ribeye. You'll be in a meat coma for days. All their menu items are incredibly well prepared; the ambiance and presentation add to the experience. The sausage is worth the cholesterol spike and their desserts are decadent! Excellent service and good wine list.
We came here as a group. We had a private party and the food was great. They brought down the appetizers, then a salad, and finally a feast of meat for everyone to enjoy.
The servers were extremely nice and very well-informed. They made our visit a fun experience.
Good food majority of our order was great. Yes, it is on a higher price point but is it worth it? Personally, majority of our food was tasty, yes it is worth it especially the steaks but excluding the oysters. 9/10
Japanese Wagyu steak 100% legit, a must try literally melts in your mouth, it has a burst of flavor 10/10
Busboys are very attentive, professional and respectful 10/10
Waitress 8/10 she was good in explaining the menu and what the restaurant has to offer, made good suggestions, point out customer’s favorites, her personal favorite and the restaurant specials/known for but after taking our orders she barely check on us.
Cons:
$15 Valet parking is pricey especially if you get a spot within the restaurant property and the valet attendant just need to walk like 10 steps to grab your car when you can do it yourself. 4/10
Oyster is not the best in terms of freshness, and meat size. The flavor was good but the amount of meat you can eat is barely there it is not worth it for $30 of 8 small pieces 4/10
5% surcharge excluding the tip. Just be aware of it.
I would give more stars if it was an option. Service: impeccable. Food: AH-MAZE-ING. Patio: lovely. This is truly the best dining experience we have ever had.
Our server Jim was awesome. The timing was perfectly paced. If we're gonna drop a chunk of change on a restaurant we truly appreciate a well paced meal. Jim was friendly, professional, efficient and had great recommendations.
We ordered all of the things and every single thing was beyond delicious.
Truffle fries: awesome
Wedge salad: great, the French dressing is fantastic
Caesar salad: literally the BEST Caesar I have ever had, we can't stop talking about it
Beef rib: unreal
Antelope sausage: fantastic
Brussels Sprouts: the best I've ever had, we came to the restaurant again specifically for the Brussels
Mashed potatoes: creamy heaven
Mushrooms: I don't know what exactly happened to those Mushrooms but holy Hannah they were literally the best thing I've ever eaten
Thickest pork chop cut I’ve ever had! Nearly a 20oz cut. Certainly more than enough for two people; come hungry! Nice flavors. Not a fan of the auto 5% surcharge for health and benefits.
We love this place. Amazing service, even better food. They care about their craft and are passionate about creating a great experience. The best steakhouse in the cities by far.
Was hoping this would have been a better experience for the price. The atmosphere was good, great place to sit and have good cocktails.
The food and service was nothing to write home about, ordered a cut med rare and it was unevenly cooked through its entirety. Asked service for recommendations and gave little to no direction.
I originally choose this place based on reviews I read. Maybe I was there on an off night but probably wouldn’t go back here for anything but cocktails.
